Cincinnati 2MI Universal mill

Just pressed the button on a Cincinnati Universal mill.
Collection wont be for a couple of weeks as it's a 500 mile round trip but the price made it worth it.
I will update with some pics once it's here and will hopefully give it a good clean up before I start using it (although history shows that if it works I don't care to much about how it looks).

Now I have a mill to match my dividing head!

Nice machine. Vertical and slotting heads too, by the look of it.

Fantastic milling machines. I re-built one when I was an apprentice, got the electrician to come back and connect the motor when I'd finished. He connected the motor back up in reverse, took me a little while to work it out. I think my boss knew and just let me work it out by myself.

I am surprised there are not a lot more around, seemed like every advert in the plant and machinery section of the
expand and fart had a Cincinnati mill in it. And if it didn't have a Cincinnati it had a Vicky.

Appears to have been built in 1958, going by the serial number.

Not this time though, I'm paying for this one to be collected. £20 more than the purchase price of the mill!
Still worth it though, hopefully turning up on Friday.

I agree, the age doesn't bother me one bit as these things were built to a high standard back in the day.
Looks like it's going to need some work as it has been in storage for some time but was fully working when decommisioned.

It's a deal because it includes the vertical and broaching heads.

You'll want to get it in the right position first time, then.

Unfortunately it's a little too heavy for my forklift which means that after I get a neighbor to offload it I can only move it around with a pallet truck and jacks.
