circular saw blades advice needed

So minimum of the blade penetrating through the workpiece.
It's been a long time since I did any of thus.

My mate also recommended having a plank of soft wood under the cut that gets scored as you make the cut.
I've got loads of hideous bright brown varnished banister planks for this.

I always stick paper tape on the front side (for accurate markings) and on the back of the part (preventing chipping).

If I remember correctly on a table saw you should have 3 full teeth poking above the cut.

I would recommend a Trend blade, not too expensive & a great cut out of the box. I used to use the cheapies from Lidl, etc & they cut ok. Then I tried a Trend blade & wow - lovely clean cuts every time. A lot easier on the saw motor too as they cut effortlessly.

For a 12" blade an 80T would be for fine crosscutting like cabinet work, 60T for general joinery.

For ripping along the grain a 30T or 40T would be best.

Either way go slow while cutting. Oak is very hard & abrasive & all you gain by forcing the cut is burnt wood, blunt blade & overheated motor!

i bought a dewalt blade off facebook new and put on a saw that had a silverline type disk on it that was new and the dewalt one did cut better than the other blade some times this id down to the thinkness of the blade

thanks for the advice all.
I picked up a a pair of trend blades today. Played about with spare bits of wood.
Ive set up a workstation out the back next to get ready to start trimming and fitting my oak.
Oh joy! the steps vary in size by a few mm and a few degrees here and there.
