All in all not too bad. 48hrs or so in the bath. Quick scrub and wire brush they are sorted.

Usually the issue would be with removing any coating. Chem black for example will fade with citric but stainless or chrome plate will be fine, it won't touch it so yes, collets should be fine.

Cheapest place to buy Citric is an Indian Grocer. Its a pickling ingredient and general preservative.

£1.30 for KG last time I bought some in Wolverton and that place is expensive
