Doesnt take much extra resistance for a single phase compressor to struggle to start. SP Motor's arent known for their starting torque! thick oil, additional resistance in the delivery pipework etc etc all accumalate (and worst on a colder day/first start)

maybe theres not so much wrong with your motor. Sort out the supply issues, and it maybe just needs thinner oil for the colder days if its still a problem

oh, and to add, your motor will pull 17.3A with a healthy 110v by my quick calc, so if thats at 8 bar i'd say it was fine and close enough to manufacturers specs.

Well that’s that theory disproven. I have just borrowed a 5KVA transformer and it still does the same thing. It has to be the motor on its way out I think.

I just registered to give my opinion for what it's worth as I went through exactly what you did and it did the same thing. Went through the entire machine. I eventually borrowed my mates 32/16amp transformer. It fired up straight away and does everytime. I just put it down to drawing too much current on startup for my little transformer.
