My spring guy (whom we use through my job) can't help me till next year as he's tapped out.
Just be very careful when rolling spring steel...
If one end gets loose and can spin freely it can easily break fingers.
I think to make jig, get the spacing and tension right and to put dog leg on will be a lot.

Am I missing something here, why are you talking about using spring steel it's not a working trap. You could just use mild steel, it's only got to look right doesn't it?
It will be a life size rat trap that could split a pumpkin, or something.
