JP
I like the idea of one of them, but they seem a bit pricey!
closest noise comparison I can think of is a ww2 era tank
I have no need for a ts3 lump butbat the same time think I should own at least oneBit late the party, I have a ts3 in a stretched Leyland EA van. With Leyland fgk-60 running gear...I've got a spare engine too...
Anyone who ever went to the gdsf in the 90's, my father was the guy with the mobile drop-stamp press in the rural crafts area. He built the lorry and used it all over Europe in the late 80's and all through the 90's to haul the exhibition equipment.
So, I've owned this for nearly twenty years, but it's finally out of dry storage, and finally for the first time in my life I have enough ground to put it on.
I call her Josephine, 1963 Commer Horsebox, saved in 1999, and about 15 years ago I took out the inclined six cylinder petrol and found a Ts3 to 'pop' in.
Here's her:
And I got her low loaded as she's not been driven for a while, and above all the clutch slave cylinder had ceased.View attachment 152701 View attachment 152702
And now she's at home awaiting a new slave cylinder and general complete renovation. And interior refit to accommodate us and two kids we didn't used to have.
So needless to say this is not going to happen in a hurry, but slowly, slowly.
Growing up in the 50's I used to lie in bed & listen to them grinding their way up the A46, as Gordon says, can't mistake it. If I heard one today, I'd recognise it instantly.Deffinely sound fantastic when pulling up a long slow gradient, Long time since I heard one, but once heard never forgotten.
