quite a lot do . they don't understand machinery or how it works or its implications - some old compressors have a scoop on the crank that picks the oil up and splash feed the barrels pistons and small end bush running the wrong direction and they don't work along with the cooling fan -pulley to cool the cylinderhave we decided if it now single or three phase ?
electricians ( sorry brightspark but its true ) very often wire compressors up, to drive the wrong direction
It's single phase it was 3phase but I changed the motor and now the switchhave we decided if it now single or three phase ?

Yep been to quite afew overheating at best rattling at worstquite a lot do . they don't understand machinery or how it works or its implications - some old compressors have a scoop on the crank that picks the oil up and splash feed the barrels pistons and small end bush running the wrong direction and they don't work along with the cooling fan -pulley to cool the cylinder
and the 'electrian ' left the three phase OL in?? ? HUMIt's single phase it was 3phase but I changed the motor and now the switch
Can't see a arrow showing direction of motor , will strip the plastics of ot at weekend and get a better look ,is it possible I've wired it wrong ,the new switch I got had no wireing diagram, many thanks .Oil level is OK if you look on the compressor fly wheel it should have a directional arrow cast into it,(most but not all do).
How do I check , if there is no direction arrow on the motor , the large wheel where the belt goes round on the pump is like a fan blade just now its pulling air threw from the cylinder head side ,I thought it should blow air onto it to cool it down ,that's why I was asking if the motor is going wrong way ,thanks guys .and the 'electrian ' left the three phase OL in?? ? HUM
it still can be turning the wrong direction though
Just never noticed it hot before it is hot enough to burn the cylinder head is hot aswell ,thanksTry to find out from Abac if the oil level is OK. On my Clarke the correct level is on the red dot, on my SIP it's at the top of the sight glass.
The copper pipe from the pump will got hot enough to give you a burn, that's quite normal.
