Concave washer on wheel bearing

Strange on that I have been supplied with a concave washer with the wheel bearing kit for my Shogun. It’s normally a chamfered edge washer that mates against the nut with flat edge on the wheel bearing and the included instructions refer to the chamfered washer too. The wheel bearing has a flat surface as well as the nut.

Anyone @premmington know which way it should be orientated. I can always use the chamfered nut but assume the change to concave is for a reason

I'd say large surface area against the bearing, small surface against the nut in a convex orientation rather than concave if that makes sense?

I would suggest if there is not an appropriate curved surface for the washer to sit on, that washer is an incorrect part.

most bearings I've come across has a reusable thick 4mm flat washer....
as above, dont think it should be in the kit....

The only thing I can think of is it may be some sort of deformable crush washer, that's assuming of course it is the correct washer. Did it come from a uk supplier, perhaps a call to them. Is there a Mitzi owners forum you could ask there.

I am with @Ubique on this one - the instructions are very clear.

I had to "google translate" it - @Ubique is a man of many talents - he may well understand written French - he in his youth had been off the Africa killing people I think where there is a lot French spoken and written in past colonial times (I don't do French apart from small parts of a menu).

To be honest - was the old washer flat profile - as I would expect it to be! If so reuse the old washer.

A belleville washer would preload the nut, why would they do this if its a castle nut
Just seems odd
