Converting 1ph motor to 3ph...

Ok so i pulled off the cover plate again and found out 2 things.
1. It only had 5 wires from the windings to the wiring block. So not 3 phase.
2. The wires were massively overheated and the insulation fell off 3 wires without barely touching them, and a 4th wire was already shorting out against another one and was about 5 seconds away from shorting out altogether.
I'll strip it further and see if i can repair, otherwise I'll have to buy a new one shame, beefy fans aren't cheap to buy.

It looks to be a fairly standard flange and foot mount, check the specs against a b3/5 or whatever.

That tails from the windings proper are not too difficult to replace.

The windings will be varnished/enamelled so you have to scrape them clean for the solder to stick if you join to an unused part of them.

It is better to use wire with high temperature insulation. It is the silicone insulated stuff with braided fibreglass outer. A good source is a scrap electric cooker but any catering spares place would have it. Use the fibreglass/silicone sleeving rather than standard heatshrink.

Check out the motor dimensions, particularly the shaft diameter. From the model number on the plate, it looks like it is probably a standard 2-pole IEC Metric Foot-and-flange-mount motor in a 71 frame size.
