The way I look at that is if you you'd taken it somewhere and got it done the labour alone would have been 3-4 times what you paid. If you'd gone to Jaguar you could have bought 2 with every hour of labour.

Thanks, this place is bad for me, just ended up buying £300 of Milwaukee toys to add to my collection.
Would love the soldering iron and heat gun but can't justify them right now.

Update on this a year later and I use the little Sealey cordless ratchet all the time, batteries seem to last forever (not much load I guess), so much so that I have never needed the extra battery I got in the kit.
So FFX temptation struck and for £45 (ex battery) I picked up it's brother in the form of a mini 3/8" impact wrench. At 80nm I won't be changing wheels with it but I'm sure it will be super handy - just weighed it with the battery in and it is just under 1kg.
Just need a set of 3/8" impact sockets now as all mine are 1/2"

@Wightsparks Been using my Milwaukee equivalent for quite some time now! It's a brilliant bit of kit

Like with all battery gear, if you don't use often enough the battery fails, if your using them a lot then I'd stick with air intermediate use or on breakdowns I guess they'd be ok long as the length and battery size allows good access

As these are Li-ion batteries they should not have that problem.

@Wightsparks I've had my Milwaukee cordless stuff for quite a few years now & I'm just a weekend warrior. But still get plenty of life out of my batteries!

Thanks! @armalites I have been having a scout around, I recently acquired (for a tenner!) an old metric Genius 1/2" socket and ratchet set and it is just lovely - in that strange way that good tools are! So I have been looking at those. I don't need imperial but would like short and long sockets and a lot of the sets are one or the other. I'll have a browse through the Zoro stuff.

Unfortunately the only ebay seller of Genius impact sockets wanted £17.50 to send them to the IOW - annoyingly the only seller to do so!

So I bought a set of these Welzh ones - which I still can't tell if they are chinesium masquerading under a German sounding brand but they do have a proper website https://www.welzh.com/ (which reeks of bull TBH!) and sell other stuff so thought I would chance it as it is a comprehensive set. Seem to be OK and nicely made now I have them - still no origin of manufacture provided. But I'll try them out.
