we had i a really bad year of clowns when i served me time in engineering .
1st year basic collage training on millers shapers lathes etc.
accidents incuded.
writing of a colchester student when turning on with screw thread feed engaged tool post straight into chuck.
surface grinder forgot to engage mag chuck off went work piece into some ones back stitches
clamp failure on horizintal mill with slitting disc and to high a speed.
off it went back of some guys head never seen so much blood.hospital.
some w---er spat in pot when casting ali causing servere burns after explosion.
wound vice up on shaper and engaged knocking it clean off.
never see such a bunch of unintrested tossers.
was 28 years ago.
you should take a trip to the college im in. im an electricial, but still have to do a bench fitting nvq2, and the last time i was in the mechanical workshop, filing away at my steel, one of the turners decided to open the jaws of a 4 jaw chuck, set it to 1900rpm, and throw a calculator into the spinning chuck
