I would guess so, but I don't know I'm afraid. I use PrusaSlicer with my printer and it has printer settings (screenshot below) that allow you to point at the address of the raspberry pi. You can then click "Upload" or "Upload & Print" when you've sliced the model. I would guess it's something similar with Cura, but couldn't say for sure.
No you have jogged my memory I think you are spit on. Main problem I have is the laptop has a stupid auto switchable graphics card in it. And it affects Windows and installing some programs like cura.
