I never did get round to cutting down these feeler gauges. Hinge is made out of a couple of drill bits.

Got it, you didnt use commercial hinges. That'll work for me also!

That is really neat- I may have to steal that idea also. But how do you get the drills in place as the hinge?

2mm drill bits drilled then glued into the door and left about an inch sticking out. Slots cut into the flap using a multi tool, slots angled up at about 30 Deg. The flap then just hangs on the two drill bits. Cover the slots with whatever you have to hand. I just happened to have an old feeler gauge set and temporarily used that but never got round to changing them.
