How old is your surf ?

1996 so 27 years old. Kin ell I thought it was 23

I'm replacing the rear wheelarch on both sides and it's going g to be a different shape and all in two pieces of 2mm sheet. They could have been patched but I'm sick of patching up and having to do another in a couple of years.

The near side is easier as the off side arch is longer to house the fuel filler and other breather pipes. I have part of the arch cut out ready to offer up my card template.

I can't answer your question sorry. There will be parts on ebay and Facebook. Joining any relevant Facebook groups is a good idea. I've had knew or two little parts. With the 4trak as it is so long out of production some aftermarket parts are being made by very small enterprises. Is it a Terios ?

Yes I think it is a Terios. By that stage Daihatsu were part of Toyota so we could do with a cross reference for common parts.

I think Troopers had a common fault where the engine blows up ? My mate's did at 70 mph.

The older 2.8s and 3.1s are bulletproof the later 3.0 one's steer clear

Made a giant card template just to check my idea was viable. I think I can bend 2mm steel in the shape of the plastic wheelarch trim and continue that shape for the whole arch depth. Then one vertical piece of 2mm sheet from that to the 4trak floor.

This is a rough mock up

I will join my new arch to the seam between the original inner and outer arches which i am going to leave in and extend downwards. The floor at the front and back of the arch requires repair and making slightly bigger to meet the shape of the new arch.

I've gained a bit of floorspace at the front of the arch. There is a section here that needs cutting out and replacing at both sides of the vehicle. At least it will be symmetrical
