Decent quality flameproof boilersuit

I use these, they didn't do the blue when I bought them so mine are all black. 100% cotton, heavy fabric and really durable. Nice and warm too in the winter, best overalls I've ever worn.

watching this with intrest,

i was useing bizweld stuff but they keep playing with the desing evidently to make them cheeper. and now they are no longer managable they removed half of the sizes from the range and put some rubbish elastic in, so the two size options are now best translated to wedgie or tent

Just ordered another pair last night. Expensive to buy but very economical in the long run. I get 12 months out of a pair, heavy commercial use lots of positional mma etc.

All we ever had were cotton which was proban treated and initially they claimed they were fireproof then changed it to fire resistant.

There are some places around dealing in secondhand workwear which were good value.

We use Roots Flame Master. They are quite expensive. We have them in lightweight for hot countries. Medium weight for normal and padded for working in the North Sea.

They really are top notch and ive got a few pairs that I use at home.

Good quality construction with double stitched seams and lots of pockets. Most importantly the zip doesn't fall apart after a couple of uses.

Cant really fault them other than very soon I wont have access to free PPE anymore !!!!

Quality has fallen off a cliff. Used to get std welding ovies to last a good six months the now you wreck them within six weeks. Internet buying has done it, people study the price rather than the value. Pioneer arc Master last me about a year or so but cost £80 a pair. Infact I haven't burnt a full hole in them, they just get rips and wear on the edges over time.

I use those but you can get proper welding ones as well (arc buster?) which are designed specifically for welding (don't know what the difference is though?)

I had some stuff through the post last week, some Swedish firm, full range of welding clothes, jackets, trousers,
Overalls etc etc and I was amazed how expensive it all was.

It looked the part, nice design etc but I'm sure the welding jacket alone was best part of £400

I dont know what they are like for there flameproof coveralls
But carhartts general workwear is the absolute nuts
I have the doublefront work trousers as i dont like boilersuits and they are so thick
Thicker than any tjing i have picked up before and there boiler suits are meant to be even tougher
Never a mark on them after welding or griding difficult to rip and the rips dont spread quick like jeans
I couldnt recommend them highly enough and wouldnt ever go to anything else atleast nothing by uk brands

If you have a bit of money to spend on a descent fire retardant boilersuit, look at snickers they can cost up to £200 for one overall, otherwise New roots are very good and allot more affordable, bear in mind they shrink a bit after the first wash so make sure you get a size bigger than you need, Iv been in that boat more than a few times.
