Had the same problem with a Mitsubishi Truck a few years ago, but that had steel wheels. Wheels had not been off for three years, and had been regularly washed with TFR via pressure washer. Had to but a big hydraulic puller on it, and still needed a good beating with a large hammer.Regarding car cleaning - how many have had alloy wheels that will not come off when needed to be removed? I tried to help someone, with a puncture, at a service station earlier this year. The wheel would not come off - likely needed a sledge hammer (on a piece of wood) to knock it off.
Apparently it is the cleaning agents the car valeting people use - it gets sprayed on, gets behind the wheel centre and causes the problem months/years later.
i used some G101 once in there,
I buy the stuff from @BikerBill for cleaning carbs.
Wouldn't trust most degreasers in an ultrasonic, i used some G101 once in there, it ate some parts alive, even though i've used it via brush on Ali for years.
Don't know, a few glugs i supposeWhat dilution rate did you use in it, Brad? G101 is my go-to degreaser/cleaner of preference, but I've used it it my ultrasonic [although a very weak solution] without problems.
Just curious.....
A tip I was given years ago and which works very well when faced with a wheel which won’t come off is sit on your **** and give the tyres a good kick on the 3 + 9 o’clock positions back and forth, it’s always worked. The alloy wheels on my cars rarely want to fall off, I’m guessing galvanic corrosion between the wheels and steel hub.Had the same problem with a Mitsubishi Truck a few years ago, but that had steel wheels. Why did you need that much?
Or take it to a tyre shop that still can't get the wheel off and give up, then drive up the M11 and pull into a service station where it then falls off!A tip I was given years ago and which works very well when faced with a wheel which won’t come off is sit on your **** and give the tyres a good kick on the 3 + 9 o’clock positions back and forth, it’s always worked. I put 2.5l in my ultrasonic cleaner every time. I’ve already used one. Probably have another 2 to use next weekend. Why did you need that much?
I was watching someone recently on you tube, he used sealed containers to put the parts in, just big enough to house the part, then filled the container up with degreaser and put that in the ultrasonic cleaner filled with water, uses much less degreaser and doesn’t contaminate the machine, it appeared to work very well.I put 2.5l in my ultrasonic cleaner every time. Drain, all purpose cleaner etc is no different to cleaner used on household floors etcHow to dispose of the used up degreaser ?
I read the first page after I saw there was one.I put 2.5l in my ultrasonic cleaner every time. I’ve already used one. Probably have another 2 to use next weekend.
