DIY Pressure Pot

Here ya go. Works very well. The outlet pipe is 1/2" Aircon pipe used in Vehicles just something I had, all the fittings are 1/2"BSP Gas. The Lid is a 2" Gas Pipe Stab Cut in half.

I already have designs on MkII, so I don't have to faff about scooping the media back out of the cabinet

another question, does it matter that the threaded sockets i welded to the tank were stainless? if so anyone know where i could get mild steel ones to repalce them? all the ones on ebay are stainless

Not really just that they cost thrice as much. What you need is Black Iron Fittings,

any decent plumbing shop should sell sockets , dont buy the maleable ones !

quick update

the pressure pot is working really well i had a go this afternoon and within a minute or so had turned a manky, rusty old 205 suspension top mount to this

I used that media i got from you rtb, works a treat

i fitted the filling socket and cap tonight, the welds were a little neater tonight

Sorry, no offence meant, but the welds on your sockets are inadequate for a pressure pot. Its a potential danger to pressure this pot up to 90psi. If the sockets are stainless they should be welded with 309L dissimilair wire. Best to cut them out again and have another go with black mild steel sockets.
