What are my options?
i suspect they will want to keep it as a feature therefore it wants sinking and sloping towards the front then sealed this way then ontop of that create exterior decking on top of this for the same effect
dont think it will not be over used i suspect it will be and when it starts leaking you might have some fun then
How come he's not getting a proper builder in to sort the underlying issues first, i.e: that uncompleted cellar?

builders back on the job from earlier posts...
I don't quite understand why but a lot of folk would like to suggest there is something nefarious or corrupt/dodgy. I don't think there is.
Yeah I've met them and we even discussed the structural integrity of the rear cover. He suggested a couple more acrow props would make it perfectly secure. There are already three acro props and I have extended the edges to rest on the solid concrete walls. You could park a car on it but I have discussed this with the owner.
Think I might just hit it with everything I've got; give him a quote for EPDM, additional acrow reinforcement and a lightweight decking.
Bodge is too strong a word but it doesn't need to last more than a year or so, so I am most interested in getting something on there quickly. Ideally something I can re use when I get to rip it all off later....

i sojest he said what he needs doing eg i want 3 acrow props there there and there as structral wize that way he the one thats sorted out whats needed
what about damp proof membrain

cheap just lay it down with planks across the top will hold in place little work so not much of a money maker
Wher do I buy acrow props?
Ok. Just a big sheet of polythene. With EPDM I could just screw down straight through it and it would seal acceptably, not the same deal with poly sheet tho its a damned shame to drill through EPDM....

if need be make the damp membrain wider so you can make a runaway away from the property
