Yes, "just stepper" drives.
They work well.

So if I buy the control panel (F2100B) and a "Z" axis control unit (HP105) including the axis unit, then all I have to buy is the stepper motors for X/Y axis.

or

Do I also have to buy stepper motor control intermediate units (relays?) or does this main control panel perform that function.

I'm considering this as an option:-

I don't know. I don't see motors, nor drivers.

I have seen a complete package before from several vendors, controller, drives, power supply, motors, as well as including the THC and torch lifter axis.

BTW that THC is a simpler version, there are better ones out there, look for a angled box that sits on top, not in the panel.

Yes, that's the one I have.
I see it also comes with the anti collision torch holder, i had to add that to mine.

FWIW i bought a gantry model from Newlin (not pictured on their website presently)
that looks very much like the one armed.
Also, mine came with no plasma supply or torch, and I built the table & frame work.
The first 3 pix are what I received in a crate along with the rails.
