Hi Premiershipman,

Yes the metalcraft XL5 power bender is the one i'm certainly interested in getting.

Currently I use a Mig welder, plasma, welding bench, angle grinder, compressor, spray gun & I think i'm pretty much there with equipment.

The other thing I do is huge animations & huge art, I also have vast amounts of camera equipment, a camera jig, professional animation software & professional editing software to. Here is an example of what I also do

You will probably notice I am very keen on filming the work I do as my work is not just metal as I use found objects or business objects related to peoples businesses & my work is all about involving businesses with CSR policies, local communities.

The metal outdoor sculptures is my objective during the months of October-December & any other time I get the opportunity to weld new items to promote my businesses with their workforce.

A bit about me, did engineering till the age of 30, did a MA & Ba Hons in both illustration including art & design 2000-2005
2006-2012 Worked as Dean The Art Wizard, I'm trying to create a new niche by testing the market creating functional animals for the garden i.e. plant animal sculptures.

I want to be able to bend 6mm round bar to create multitudes of shapes, what's your honest opinion & the best way to do this? Buy something from metalcrafts to do this? I currently use a vise to bend everything!

Sorry about the delay in replying I've been away for a few days soaking up some spanish sun before the cold sets in

I haven't had time to look through your links yet but will give them a looking at lunchtime just trying to play catchup, holidays and being self-employed don't mix.

My dragonflies are made from 8mm bar, I use my power bender every day to bend all sorts of shapes! I originally bought the Chinese version on ebay and was horribly disappointed! (I didn't know it was the imitation back then) I then got the metalcraft catalogue and found the X5 power bender, which looked much better than the rubbish I had bought. I wasn't sure at first because on paper it doesn't look like it should be able to do the things it says, but it does and terribly well too!! Best investment I've every made, with-out a doubt. And to make things even better the guys at metalcraft are so helpful, if you have any problems they sort it out asap, you don't get that nowa days. All my flat sculpture is made from 10mm bar and it bends that without a problem too.

If you're busy I'd highly recommend this tool, it will increase your productivity more than double.
