I have just treated myself to a Dremel 9250 using my Amazon Christmas voucher. My brother had the 3000 model which was very nice.
Restoring my large selection of chucks I find that a small wire brush is perfect for the final cleanup after soaking in a bath of citric acid. I was using a die grinder. Compressed air tools must be the most inefficient devices known to man!
Dremel is more adjustable.
Much quieter - no ear protection needed.
And the biggest advantage - 175W v 3kw
Very useful for cutting off bolts in tight places - a lot more capable than I thought. Of course it won't replace the die grinder for running big carbide burrs for knocking off welds.
Only drawback I have found - I get tingles in my hand from the vibrations with the Dremel - never get that with the die grinder!
