They are great little tools. I've found the cutting discs shatter easily though, especially the knock off ones from Lidl and Aldi. Their actual knock off Dremmels are ok though. I got a Lidl cordless one for £15 which is handy.
All these things have their place depending on the job in hand, including air of course.
Don't use the Dremel very often but for the little space and power they take up I would'nt be without.
My gripe with Dremels is how low quality all the consumables seem to be, even on small jobs seem to get through a lot of the fiddly things compared to anything a bit bigger
i have air tools and a dremmel .using the small diamond cutting disks on it are good .the small grinding disks soon break and are a bit delicate but cheap enough and do the job
I found the little cut-off wheels last much longer if coated both sides with superglue.Old plastic modelers trick. They are great little tools. Not something I use frequently, but I've got a Bosch 12V cordless unit, & I've even still got the old B&D 12V wired unit I've had since my early teens. Fitted a 3 pin chuck on that one, way back when, rather than using the collets.
