Drill Battery Replacement

I saw a vid of someone usinf a mig welder to rejuvinate dead cells, something about the extra current burning back the whiskers that cause dead shorts in the cells. A search on youtube would bring it up.

You could try here for replacement cells - it's a good site to bookmark even if they don't have what you want. I ordered some 6V button cells for alarm fobs and they came very quickly.

2 posters have now mentioned a video explaining how to use a mig welder to shock ni-cad batteries,as i included the link in post 5 ,they either didn't spot the colour change,the link didn't work,or it was my bad labelling (linky instructables)

Well I charged up the second battery and got over 14v so seems like all the cells in that one are fine. Thought they were both dead esp leaving it all this time un'charged. Guess I will leave them a couple of days and re'check the voltage. Should manage to do the fence work I got in the next few weeks.
