Dull apprentice

I watched an episode of american hotrod the other week, when they were taking the mickey out of one of the apprentice,s putting a coin on his head, a funnel down the front of his pants and he had to land it in there except he got a can of coke down his pants. I fell for the same trick in my 1st year, but i got a cup of engine oil, but i soon wised up, other apprentices were sent to the stores for.

One of the apprentices ware I work got sent to the stores for elbow gease, after half an hour of looking the store man when't to the machine shop manager, after explaining his predicament he got a few choice words thrown in his direction. It was rather funny tho.

In another job, one of my work colleagues explained how he was repairing some old fire alarm bells, and he needed two hammer arms, so told an apprentice to go to the spares desk at a parts place and ask for a 'pair of bell-ends'....

Would of loved to of seen the look on the face of that apprentice lad....

The 'glass hammer' was another one too..

and pipe fittings, a 'straight elbow' fitting.

I once worked on a building site and we got the young un to try and bump start the stihl saw..had him running up and down the site pushing it along for about ten mins before he realised we were taking the p**s..

Tied in the woods,ink and permanent marker drawn on my face ,then covered in zinc stearate a fine talcum powder like substance used in the rubber industry ....they did take me out and get me very drunk.. I also had a ball and chain attached to my leg ,which had to be cut off at work by the night shift .....that was ok because I got a shower at work ,,,until they came in and helped using a 2" fire hose .....happy days

I was working with a contractor doing work in cadbury's factory in dublin , there was an apprentice who was getting married the following week , the wimmins off the wrapping and packing lines grabbed him and stripped him off , the indignities that lad suffered were unspeakable !

The ball and chain they made years ago ,for stag nights ,before me they had stripped and chained a Lad to Bath Abbey in the city centre and placed one lad in "ye old stocks"....in a local village called Faukland


edit ~ball may have been a slug of steel encased in a ball of rubber

When I worked at Hawker Siddeleys in Chadderton in the 70s, the balls were removed off of the fly presses!!

Then a simple srewed in eye and chain (plus a quick weld or two ) did the job.

Usually the fire brigade had to turn up cut the poor lad off the railings he'd been chained to!

Me and a colleague needed to get a cable through a partition so we ordered a hole from the storekeeper. He hadn't noticed until he was phoning the order through to central stores, he went ballistic after he'd read out "1/2 inch hole, qty 1".

I know a guy who does a new apprentice trick in the plastering game, getting them to press a 25kg bag of plaster over their head.

Unbeknown to the apprentice, another plasterer stands behind him and slices the underside of the bag when the apprentice has the bag pressed high over his own head.

Cue about 20kg of plaster on the apprentice's head....quality..
