Dumper rear axle problem help please

Are you sure it has a clutch? All of the thwaites ones that I've worked on are a hydraulic drive.

I managed to sort it in the end. The sun shaft planetary gears and outer ring were all mashed up. I got some second had parts and it's now as good as new. Only problem now is, because I steam cleaned it before doing the work the clutch is now stuck ( I think rusted on to the flywheel). Anyone got any good tips how to free it up?

run the machine till its hot for half an hour and it may free up

start it in gear, depress clutch and apply full throttel. provided you have enough room.

if its really stubborn you might need to work up a gear or two ( quite easy without clutch ) some will start in top when warm anyway.

then epicyclic reduction units to allow the reduced diff size could be one side epicyclic has seized

HUB REDUCTION like what I said!!, I did ask if it had two marks or splines on the end of the half shaft.
If the clutch has rusted onto the flywheel start the engine and let it warm up fully,with the two font wheels jacked clear of the ground, start it in gear with the starter it may jump a little but do the same as driving your car with no clutch, then keeping you foot on the clutch give it full throttle and if you can keep pressing the brake to load the clutch as much as possible with some VERY hard jabs.If that doent work find a large area to run it and do the same. Obviously be ready to shut off the engine to stop it.
