Glad I stumbled across this thread. I bought a mask a couple of years ago cost me about £60, haven't done any welding for a year or so as I have been working away but will be home in June and my son wants to help so I needed another cheaper mask. Was going to ask about these http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/jsp-royale-ii-flip-up-gas-welding-goggles on this forum but I was sure he would not wear them as they were not "WICKED" enough. He's obviously been watching too much AMERICAN CHOPPER so one of these with Flame effect and scull would be absolutely brilliant!!!

Gas welding goggles are no good for arc!
