Ah for the siezed bolt.
Will give it a go tonight should fit in the tub.

The pin has a shoulder into a rebate so will only come out one way. I'll have to stick it in whole.

Won't bother with the pins.
I'll make those up myself. I'll machine flats on them and use brass slugs in the holes.
Half my issue has been damage from dog points I think

3 hours in the tank.
Still stuck but looks better. Left it soaking overnight.

Still needs a brushing but should come up nicely.

Oil and diesel had worked there way in. Popped the stilsons on the shaft lock and pulled out easily.
Should be reusable too.

I'll dig out a couple of nuts to fit and see if I can find out the stud tomorrow.

Hopefully have a free day Wednesday sonil drag the main casting outside and see if I can get the bolts off.
If not I'll show it the angry grinder.
Then I'll strip it ready for primer.

When I did my ancient rusted solid mitre trimmer, I left it in in the electrolysis tank for days at low current.

Every bolt came out super easy. I "had" to do that because the machi e was so old, the fasteners were all hand made! I dared not destroy them off or it would have become the welding table I bought it for.

Check to see if it’s a locking grub like on a Bridgeport. Insert a hex only a short way in and see if there is a a separate locking screw on top of the normal grub.

I'd leave it in but I don't trust it in the garage or shed for long periods and in the outside u dercover area that's suited the kids will be at it.

Every other bolt and screw came out easily. Doubt the dog point has been out since it was first built up.
No need for a service.
It's only because I want to give the shaft attention I'm bothering tbh.

The grub and handle are the last hurdle.

The handle will get a good dose of heat and if it doesn't give up it can stay on...

Still can't fathom the pin diameters. They should never have been fitted that tight.
Being an old machine 3/4 should be the obvious size and my 3/4inch pins fit perfectly. Snug but movable

Nice idea but nope. Definitely one piece.
Probably been rusting in there for a long time.
It's got till Saturday then I'm getting the drills out. Shame I can't find my left hand twists.

Those Carbide bits I aquired a few weeks made short work of the grub screw.
May have destroyed a hss bit first. :/

Then found some 1inch stock and made use of the flypress to push the pin out
Simples.

Also found a suspicious package on the doorstep when I got home.
Inside was this.

Need to pull my finger out and get it cleaned ready for paint over the weekend.

Progress this evening.

All back together and moving freely.

Wanted to test before proceeding.

As I thought initially the damage was caused post siezing by an enthusiastic soul. Bent the red handle up at the same time by the look of it.
Good news. Means the repair won't be taking heavy loads. It's just to mate the 2 levers on the return stroke.

The state of the rack/ram is bugging me.

Snuck out and drilled/tapped the locking ring I had to butcher found a 14.4 bolt and made a slot head dog point.
Another job off the list.

Even without the arms on it this was too much for me to lift.
Knew the hoist would come in handy again

Can roll it out front and get the rest of the paint off now.

Had the neighbours screaming over the fence at me a few minutes ago.
Apparently there walls were shaking.
Hmm.
Took me 1 minute to lift and lower it.

Like I said in a previous post. Wouldn't urinate on them if they were on fire.

Can't say what I really think or il be shown the ban hammer.

That would be appreciated Adam.
I'm passing that way fairly regularly.
Size not critical just want clean square sides (tooth side can remain untouched)and il shim as required to take up the slack.
Now I've got it on the floor and the table rehomed I can get to my welder and consider the repairs.

Tell the neighbor's to f off. If they still carry on then use a lump of wood. Works for me
