While I have seen some of those holders, I have always used the one on the left type.Got one of those twist types to try, the other day. Figured that when I finally get round to practicing my welding, better to do it with a recommended & more balanced holder. The crocodile type seem a weird & imbanced, although functionsl, design to me.

I find myself placing a couple of fingers on the lever for angling/twisting motion.
I think the other style would require a stronger grip on the holder all the time.
