Gentle wipe and compressed air?Yes thanks, definitely fragile. Any tips for cleaning up the motor inside ?
I take the approach of not poking a sleeping bear. Sometimes more harm than good can be done if you start messing around with older motors. The lacquer/varnish on the windings will be old, too much disturbance could damage it.
I would get the worst of the dust/gunk away and then leave it. The motor will run fine even if it is 'dirty'.
