enerpac hydrolic fitting sizes

I meauserd the threaded part and got 5/8" or 16mm.
I am looking to get a hose made up to connect the ram/s to the pump.
I could keep the metal hard line to connect the 2 rams and connect the flexi beween this and the pump..

Just get an Enerpac hose. The hose is the cheap part

Beware as Enerpac are NPT not bsp. And the working pressure of the hose must be 700bar (10’000 psi)

edit - looking at the pictures what you’ve got there are swagelock type fittings

Like a olive on the steel pipe. I would like to join that to a flexi if possible

I don’t think that’s possible. It’s a swagelock type fitting. I don’t think youl find a fitting to match it.
You will need to remove the fitting arrowed below and fit a 700bar hose to that.
It will be npt

When he says remove the fitting, he means at the body of the gauge. To identify it, use a thread pitch gauge. If it is tpi, it will be NPT (probably 18), if it is metric it will not.

If your soldering skills are up to it, leave the short piece of steel tube projecting from the gauge, cut off the foreground end and silver solder a brass fitting of your choice to the end of it. Look up the shear strength of silver solder and make the joint such that the wetted area has more than adequate capacity to resist the 10k psi.

I got this as the specs so now I can get some made up.

what is it that seals on the hydrali hose the tapered thread or does one use a washer?

Found the hose and adaptor seen people use copper or dowty washers

The adaptor is a bit steep at £25 I could turn one on the lathe easy enough

I know that the name gives it away, so just some PTFE tape or liquid sealant job done.

After getting it wrong so many times if I have any that are not standard BSPP which I can normally ID ok I take the fittings with me when I get pipes made.

oh I thought it was justme! forgive the pun that gets it wrong so many time always with the vechiles and fitting oil pressure gauges and the like!

Well after picking up the pair of rams i think i would be best suited to split them and use only 1. They are a short stroke but 23 ton ratted. One would be quicker to extend and retract with the pump and more than man enough to split my logs.

I had the thread gauge on the tape that goes inside the ram, its a 18TPI that end the other end of the elbow will be metric for those swagelock type fittings on the metal pipe

Hydraulics are unlikely to be metric, as are swagelok fittings. Not sure if jic are metric or just odd.

Measure the tube for compression fittings, not the fitting.

If those are swagelok they are old, doubt new fittings are interchangeable but could be. Do not mix other manufacturers parts even if they appear to fit.

Best bet is to take what you need to a hydraulics place, they will usually have what you want off the shelf.

Don't try plumbing fittings, they must be rates to at least the pump pressure.. 200 to 300 bar would be a guess
