the one thing I found was using on japanese cars you need to buy specific obd as their obd system is different to european models .
My one asks what region the car is from IE Japan, Europe etc.the one thing I found was using on japanese cars you need to buy specific obd as their obd system is different to european models .
It’s worse than that! My OBD reads cars from all over. Beyond that it asks for region - as above- but it can’t cope with the fact that it’s a commercial vehicle (ie a van) beyond reading the most basic of engine details. My one asks what region the car is from IE Japan, Europe etc.

might have to take you up on your offer if still going @carbonThe one I have is for cars and light vans. A friend was having problems with a 5 ton MAN van. Scanner automatically identified it as MAN and wouldn’t go beyond that as I don’t have access to larger commercials. Manually scanned it as VW and had access to all the dtc’s which were mostly due to low battery voltage when the battery had been recently replaced.
You can buy cheap clones of the hardware from aliexpress easy enough and they arrive bundled with peugeot planet and the newer diagbox software that you can run in a virtual machine, I believe diagbox covers Toyota's and modern GM too... I have same for my daughters 207 & for Renaults I have a clone vci. Generally I find out what the dealer only software is, then check if theres a clone on aliexpress or similar. Something like a topdon gives you the ability to sniff the bus for the keycode to unlock the bcm and other extras, but at a price and I have the keycode already. I just want obd messages, to be able to program immobilizer chips and remotes and clear fault codes etc.Early Peugeot 206 models too! Though the OBD port is the same as modern stuff you need Peugeot Planet etc.
A kind soul on another forum lent me his kit.
A secret public transport fetishist's pass timegives you the ability to sniff the bus
oh will have to have a look tommorwIs it the same as a Peugeot partner?
I saw that, and thought immediately that it was desiged as a lhd then adapted to rhd, you see a fair bit of that sort of thing with Peugeot's and Renaults...
what a great bloke @carbon is after a full day at work offered to pop down and scan the van
looked at it as a toyota and no go but scaned as a peogeut (thay make the same van)
came up with code c0040 break pedel switch fault coherence with the pressure sencer

Isn't that the light that comes on just before a crashing sound.Extra-Sensory Perception is a boon and a curse.
I don't think so (but could be wrong). Have a look here, might give you somewhere to start.@carbon beat me to the post but yes showing as 160 before any thing pressed is this normal ?
