Eye damage?

Lots of people wonders if you mouth could be welded shut. The answer is no

thats somthing after reading all of that that i never thought of use a arc welder daily now with a old mask and never had problems with my eyes but i never wear any other protection jus a tshirt n jeans i dnt wears gloves or anything. and my arms always go red i always thought it was cus of the little spits or what ever there called you get on ya arms never thoought of sunburn.

I always were oveys and gloves mate when you get spatter and **** on your arm thats bad news

arc eye is really nasty sleepless nights and LOTS of pain!! I suffered really badly trying to weld a patch in hurry onto an old rotten spread plate of a slurry tanker without an automask, lots of dabbing the rod to stop blowing holes in it and needles to say much cursing and swearing!!!

you can get arc eye from refections you just didnt get it enough. i remember the last time i had arc eye it hurts lol everybody always goes to the hospital but i never have because theres nothing they can do so if you do get it remember its a day of ain or if you have it really bad like i did 2 days

I hope someone can shed some light on this ,i was sure that pain relief is available just won't cure the blindspots any quicker,ie still no work /driving

Ive heard some of the "old hands" say to rub your eyes with a bar of soap but im certainly sure i will never try that one!!

Maybe they thought that the soap would wash the peeling skin out!! I think it would just be adding insult to injury!!

As Ive said in another post Chamomile tea bag on the eyes antiseptic, anti-inflammatory soothing and speeds healing and ordinary tea bags in the mug or maybe brandy for the shock

nothing gets rid of arc eye . i just go the pub and get ****** thatn helps ha ha

if your not looking directly at it just working around how much would sun glasses help they say reduce 99.9 percent uv rays

how would i know if i had a problem?

i can describe arc eye perfectly, if i told you to lie on the ground on your back, with your eyes wide open, and then i got and handful of sand and dropped it in your eyes, this is what it feels like, and theres nothing you can do about it lasts for hours and hours, nasty, been there, done it more than once, kieran.
