Facebook bargains...

I'm really enjoying marketplace. I've got shot of a load of junk I would have otherwise binned plus I've picked up some mega bargains - best one has been a 2m high tambour in mint condition for a tenner.

There's still crazy scene tax though - I had people bidding me silly money on a Myford vertical slide.

I've sold a few used MIG welders on Marketplace, over about 4 months.

Pros: quick to list things and it is free.
Cons: IME, in London 80% of 'enquiries' (mostly useless / stupid / time wasting) come from the recent EU members

to be fair most of the buys i do are under 50 quid and fit in the back of a car not an car

ive sold a few welders on facebook cleared out most of my spare ones or as ive upgraded sold the old
migs seam to sell well on there most of the people are starting out so give them a pointer to the fourm
stick welders seam to be a bit of a hard sell especialy the small buzz boxes even my inverter stick was on there for quite a few days before there was some real intrest but did sell for a good price
ive found stick welders most seam to end getting sent over seas to less fortunate countrys im assuming over here there plenty and cheap over there fetch a high price

I haven't found any bargains on facebook yet. In fact most people seem to be asking silly money for tat!

Bought a lovely "wardrobe" the other day......Its actually a Larder Cupboard but they thought it was a wardrobe.....needs a bit of work....I paid 150 for it but they are advertised for £1200....I think I will get £600 maybe more....buy myself some tools or something for the shed.......the people selling it had a workshop making bespoke kitchens and were shocked when I told them what it was....they hadnt thought of it even though they had loads of unexpected interest.......Its in bits now so cant take pictures but its a Merchants Chest....4 drawers, over 3 over 2 with a cupboard on top.
