I have one 1050W it has Hilti wrote on and it's red but it's actually a Bosch GWS 10-125 E

Agree with Hilti service but at the same time I disagree ,they can do what they because you are going to pay the tool twice so ...
I don't like them because their policy ,if you buy a tool you can't sell it later in the years because of their policy, parts are not available ,even carbon brushes if you ask for them they take your tool ,and if the tool is discontinued they take it and sold you another one .
They are strange , someone loves them someothers like me don't

Hilti have always been first class for us. Their repair centre is 2 hours away from us up in Glasgow.
We have some 36v recip saws which have done a CRAZY amount of demolition work (easier for our guys to just pick one up and chop some steelwork, rather than ask for a hot work permit for grinding or oxy cutting)
These saws last around 2 years at a time, then when they finally break, we send them to Hilti, who basically rebuild them like brand new, for only a few hundred quid.

I honestly don't have a single bad word to say about Hilti, their 22v and 36v tool range is market leading, and their corded stuff aint bad either.
If I had to tool up for myself all over again, I wouldn't even think about it - I'd just splurge a few grand on credit

I've often wondered how the likes of Fein and Hilti compare to the more common brands, there must be a good reason for them to charge so much more.

I’ve got 3 fein grinders which I’ve had about a year now all 5” size I forget which models they are 1 is an inox version (variable speed max 8000rpm) which I use with small polishing mops and wire brushes.
All have been fantastic in service had a few days in various places (I’m a polishing subcontractor at times) where I’ve been on a grinder for the day and these haven’t got warm at all! I’ve killed 2 Bosch and a Metabo before now quite rapidly!

I’ve opened them up (to blow them out rep said it wouldn’t affect warranty!) and seem to be really nicely made cords are really long and lovely quality (hasn’t stopped me cutting 2 of them off!!)

my only gripe with them is the bulk quite a few people have tried them and said they they are heavy. I don’t find them too bad for the stuff I do. Some jobs I’ve found them a bit tiring to use

If I do need a lighter, smaller bodied grinder for deburring or tight spaces I grab my hitachi which I got as a twin with a 9”.

If you're spending that sort of money I'd be asking for the extra collets for the die grinder to be chucked in, mine only came with a 6mm . I also need the 1/4 and 8mm, going to have to pay for those.

I got a brand new in the bosch boxed die grinder for free, very nice. I purchased a Fein sander, never again will Fein darken my door again, sander yes, clearly isn't a grinder but utter tat. Hikoki grinder, pants. Makita grinder not bad, Bosch quite nice, oddly cheapo Einhell 18v brushless grinder v v nice, got 3 for the coin top banana. Festool, watch Ave on youtube regards Festool, not the Bentley build one would expect. My mate swears by Milwaukee but I'm not in the pro realm like him and Brad and am mere pauper. Who I must apologise too unreservedly as I've referred to previously as Mjb as in your company name. Apologies Brad. More haste less speed and all that! Especially also as I was late on your Pferd point posh brushes too! Lol Pferd, posh gear.

I'd be honest with you , I'd love to buy a Fein grinder but I'm so happy with metabo that I'm
Scared about the idea of buying a 200 euros grinder and hate it .
I know they are good tools but I haven't encountered any in my life
Maybe only one from 1960s because it needed to replace the switch

Was meant to all be delivered today, and it appears TNT have let us down now. Whether they will turn up tomorrow or not who knows.
Annoying really as I’ve got a big job starting Sunday and I’m already packed. Would of been Nice to put the tools through their paces.

Nice grinder. Very similar to the metabo. The switch is definitely better made than the metabo, but it is sometimes hard to engage/disengage with welding gauntlets on. The metabo switch is easy to knock on and off. Watch the power ratings, Fein seem to state the input power as the main figure, whereas my metabo is definitely more powerful. Looking into it my metabo is 1550W output. The Fein is 1550W input so in reality only 1200-1300W. Still it is a chunk lighter.
