I use Filarc 56 as my lo-hi rod, they're 7016 and I love em. Find them very easy to control compared with some 7018's that I used a while back. A nice rod.
Everyone else has covered the details here, treat them like 7018's and you can't really go wrong.

The best 7016 on the market is comet j50n this is a dual coated electrode slag drops off and can be used in all postions inc vertical down could send you some free samples JB Weld to try if you are intrested

Hey-up Si, sideplates up and tacked, stern wrapper plate formed and placed to one side, just on with the swim plates, and then next will be the counter plate.............gettin' interesting.

7016 acording to my old fos bible are for high sulphur and high carbon steels that crack under weld deposit.
That’s a Spezial not a true 7016zbest 7016 ive ever used were Kobelco
