I'm making research about and it's amazing how an hammer can shape a flat sheet of metal into complex three dimensional shapes.
I'm still disassembling the car.
And I'll have to brace structure before to start removing panels but I have a much clearer view of what I have to do to save the little FSM

Other few hours on the 126p

Discovered few things .
The inner door frame on the driver side is not rotten, but I have to rebuild the external one

I have everything to repair the sill and the frame beneath the door.
About the floor I'm kinda thinking about building a rotisserie to make my life easier but I need to repair the frame the sill and the door pillars before otherwise it would open it up like a tuna can once lifted

I'm practically already set up for OA.
No Safe place to store acetylene cylinder yet so not going to buy it soon.

I actually have a very nice Harris torch with various tip sizes, new oxygen and propane regulators, oxy propane cutting attachment, circle cutting attachment.
I still have to buy flashback arrestors hoses adapters and quick connectors.
Because I have another straight Fro cutting torch and recently bought a short demolition Harris style cutting torch.

Anyways should not be needed it's enough thick sheet metal for gasless flux core.
It welds no problems I've already patched the bonnet and it would not be a great deal to weld on it.
If it'll be I'll get or make a spot welder because I have the materials to do that.

Traditionally not those 126's but the 500's were gas brazed using brass filler.
But I've been working on my friend's 500R and with little bit of patience and messing up with settings I was able to weld it up using flux core.

And found not so much damage.
It shouldn't be that difficult to repair.
Tomorrow I'll finish to dismantle the interiors and hopefully vacuum all the dust and debris to make easier to understand what's to do

I love this specific model.
I've originally bought it to make a rally car out of it but rules continuously change and there's the risk to have to redo everything once finished because they changed their mind.
So I've decided to save it as road going car.
But this set few stops I cannot skip.
If once completely striped the frame is still good I'll start with the body work trying to make it rust proof but after that I'll have to rebuild the engine I've got for it (which is actually more expensive than putting a much powerful engine into it)
It will be slightly customized with racing components like camshaft pistons conrods and muffler.
But there are seriously many upgrades I would like to do to make it safer and funnier.
Improved braking system is one of them along with the steel flywheel to increase engine braking and responsiveness.
But it would have the same displacement maybe 30Hp but nothing extreme.

I'd like to make a custom dashboard for it and convert it to a sequential shifter (just the shifting mechanism)

Completely removed the interiors and I've kinda lost the enthusiasm for it.
On yesterday evening I've checked the new panels to understand how they fit together etc.
What I've understood...
Inner sill and outer sill panels tougher don't make a close box and they are structural.
The floor panels complete the box.
My problem now is understand how to brace the door opening since I need space to cut everything But I need to rebuild the door pillars too.
Most of the interiors have to go they got too much damage from the water the Rabbits because they can't be defined as mice anymore.
Windows will come off on the weekend because I'll be able to cover the car.
Then I'll have to wait for the spot removal bits to arrive.
And I'll start to remove the panels

When I bought my Morris it was fully laced with rust for the bottom 30cm, nothing was solid.

I trimmed most of it off and balanced the body on a chassis I built, then made all new lower sills and frames that fitted the chassis and what was left of the body. It was a steep learning curve, and fun at the time, but not a job I’d want to do again.
I wish I’d had a decent camera back then, I hardly have any decent pics to look back at.
