they might weld, how to go about it tho, if meany spares i'd be tempted to throw in in a forge get it all FH fire a load of weld in and just burry it dig it ot a few days later and see what happend

Aye hot use any eletrode slow cool cant go weong even chinese rods be ok cant go wong

The thing that would concern me if you weld them with nickel rods is that it will leave hard spots in the casting that might cause problems when machining it.

If using stick it wants to be kept cold - unless you plan on using an air hammer throughout the entire cooling process...

Don’t use anything other than the proper rods which have a high nickel content, ordinary rods are not suitable.

Which would be disastrous, meaning that it needs to be done properly.
It’s not difficult or complicated to get it right, though somewhat tedious, but it’s not something that should be experimented on using questionable methods.
