Just re read the above post......... The side weather strips are fitted on the inside of the door frame so th closing door pushes up against them .
On most U & O doors there is an integrated metal lip in the top half of the sides of the door, it should shoulder up the the frame when the door is closed .
Getting the frame to fit the door is not easy unless you set up one of the verticals first and nip it tight , then calculate everything from that . i had a dozen or so 4 x 1/2 thick wedges that I used as packing's , drilled through them and left them in place once I'd cut the excess off after the job was done .
I also sealed all of the frame inside and out with Silkaflex mastic once the door was hung right and everything tightened up , for i found water was getting blown in behind the wooden frame thus soaking into the block work if we got a South Westerly giving it what for .
