Finnish shed build

I tried to let the machine do it's thing and just passively guide it, it's what I had expected based on what I looked up beforehand, but no matter what I did that didn't happen. It looked to be a smaller, simpler model than what I have seen as well. Quite worn and well used. Handle was sticking straight up.

Looked like this except shabbier.

Damn I just realized I should probably have adjusted the handle somehow so it leaned back and not used it like in the photo. I did fiddle with the adjustments but it seemed stuck now that I think more about it.

It's no wonder you struggled if you operated it like that.

Yeah in retrospect it seems obvious now it should've been differently, but at the time the damn thing wouldn't move and I was stressed because it was a rental and had limited time to get everything done. It wasn't straight up as in the photo, did lean back a little, but still not a lot of lean to it.

Dennis next time you hire things ask for instruction how to used them , things change, so does the way of using things . The handle is usually about 110 mm up from the ground so you can work it with arms bent and back reasonably straight .

There’s something called self levelling compound (“flyt-spackel”), that I intend to use on my own uneven concrete floor. Don’t know what it costs in Finland, but here it’s about a pound per kilo - maybe something to consider?

I think it's good enough, I need to start working on moving the heavy machinery over there..

Well that went a lot easier than I thought it would. Table saw moved. My 2-ton hoist keeps being one of my better investments. And the modifications I did to the base make it so much more useful than a regular hoist.

Basically I lifted the table saw onto the trailer, balanced the saw on the axle. Easy peasy moving the saw to the shed by hand.

Moving the hoist itself between buildings for unloading was the worst part.

Garage getting a little emptier:

I have begun disassembling the bandsaw, covers, wheels, table have been removed so far. I plan to use the crane to lay the frame down on its side and then lift it that way onto the trailer. I will need to make a simple cradle for this too so it can rest on that.

I really should have gotten insulation and OSB up on the walls before filling the shed with tools but there's no time for that and no money either, the concrete truck was 2x as expensive as I had thought so that's my shed budget blown and I am keeping to it. I'll focus on sealing it up as good as I can and keeping the inside dehumidified, somehow.

Today I tackled the bandsaw, over the week I disassembled as much as I could from it to make it smaller and easier to handle.

I attached some pieces of wood for the saw to lie on before starting to tip it over.

I slowly lowered the saw down on it's side, this was a buttclenching operation but it went well.

Then I spent a lot of time getting it up on the trailer

And balancing it on the axle as last time, it was pretty easy to move despite the frame only being more heavy than the table saw. I have no idea how heavy it is though, heard theories from 400 to 600kg.

And in the shed, getting it off the trailer was easier even though both the loading and unloading took an hour each.

And lifting it back up and putting the feet back on. I think that's the best place for it. Now to start reassembling the saw. Not looking forward to getting the table back on.

Your going to need a bigger shed!

I'm only putting the woodworking stuff there, the shed is bigger than the piece of the garage I used to have all my woodworking stuff in. And I'm not using the cyclone anymore (no point) and putting the extractor outside, so it'll take less space. So I will actually have more space than I used to.

Are the cyclones any good or do you still get dust in the place ?

theres better than that cyclone instead of upright on its side is just as good if not better

and all its done is spun it just like the dyson just on its side instead

The cyclone is good at separation but you still get dust because the collecting is the real issue. In this shop I will just blow all the air and stuff into a container outside. Since I do not heat this shop I can save myself from dealing with filters and stuff.
