If they worked as well as a corded grinder I would be impressed. The cordless 5" DeWalt I have is great for short jobs away from mains power. But batteries last no time at all and disc only runs around 7500rpm as opposed to the corded 11,000+

There's a corded version of the one above - its £245 cheaper. A bargain at £200 vs £445.

I have a Makita, but as I don't like to spoil it I just give it a new set of brushes every third birthday.

I care about my angle grinders. I don't drop them onto concrete or try to stall the disc, or shower them with dust from other grinders. Once in a while I even check the brushes, so they can be changed before they fail and wreck the commutator. I've even been known to check the grease in the gearbox and get rid of the dust with a paintbrush.

I think you'd need to have some regular special requirement to make that Metabo worth buying.

There are also long reach angle grinders.

As far as I'm concerned, having no desperate need to reach into 43 degree corners, it would be rather a waste of money, especially the battery powered one.

That thing looks like something from Star Trek. I love my Metabo 125mm variable speed grinder. It has a no load safety switch so you can't plug it in and start it if it is switched on and it has a clutch so if the disc jams it will not damage the motor. It's the WE14-125 quick with the easy change disc nut and it has some serious grunt.

I looked at the Milwaukee ones after buying a cordless impact wrench which I'm impressed with. It was a lot less money than that.

I don't rate Metabo at all, had a couple, didn't last more than 3 weeks.
