3 year warranty should cover that if you registered it.

a £4.99 angle grinder is something no man can resist, no matter what his brain tells him.i even bought one at tescos £4.99 on offer!..might be junk but ...had to buy it...!
Metabo are in my opinion a better brand than Makita, dont know if they are linked.great to see so many replies. I googled flat-head angle grinder and it seems metabo are the only ones making one - i think they should all be flat head, its a genius idea.
I had impression that metabo were somehow related to makita, like a cheaper cousin of makita... if they are made in Germany, which is a good sign in itself, they are obviously nothinmg to do with makita.
what really hurts, as well as the ridiculous price tag for the li-ion version, is that ive invested in makita 18v stuff. ugh!
I still want one. Surely other manufacturers will follow suit...
