My friend who I help out with tree stuff, has a 2017 Forst ST6P chipper with a broken feed roller/TFR. Also cracked fan blades on the flywheel. Other minor issues too! Very expensive dealer/manufacturer to repair. Its not had hard use so he is greatly irritated to have another big bill!
He could use some advice as to what he should get them to do, specifically the flywheel. It needs doing. They want to replace it, £££. I assume it could be welded but if it can be welded in situ, I imagine its a huge pain to strip out and a heavy lump too.
TFR feed roller shaft
Flywheel - cracks at root of fan blades, see red marker
Dirt around shaft other side.
Other comments - crack in the hopper - should be easy welding, I can likely do that. The hitch is worn into the red and hitch damper also failing. I assume eay to replace those.
@8ob I guess you might know the most here about chipppers?
Any experience with these or know anyone in south east who can do decent repairs?
