Garage floor resin paint

So I’m going to be getting on with my garage in a couple weeks and I need to buy some paint for the floor. What would people recommend?
ive seen this company which isn’t cheap but looks decent quality.
I don’t want anything too complicated because I hate painting incase anyone hasn’t realised

well resin coating is a lot better than your average floor paint and the price reflects

I did my garage about 10 years ago with epoxy floor paint....only needed one re-coat (mainly because I wanted to change the colour!)...I'd recommend a light colour like the grey.

Does protect the cement really well....I dropped a load of oil on mine and after using some cat litter to soak it up the floor was back to original condition. Doesn't seem to crack/chip or flake so I'm very happy with it.

Got mine on ebay which is a lot cheaper....needs a good mask and don't paint yourself into a corner like I did by mistake

I have used their stuff and it is good. Can be a bit sticky, so much so that the hairs fell out of the brush halfway through and then I had to run around looking for another one before the pot set.

The colder it is, the thicker it gets but the hotter it is, the faster it goes off so only mix up enough that you can use in 15 minutes.

If you want a really good job, I think they do a dust sealer/primer that goes on first. Even with this, a thorough hoovering in advance of paint will pay dividends.

Can’t comment on the resin stuff but I repainted my workshop floor every year , around 2,000 sq ft , I used a soft broom to do the actual painting which took around an hr start to finish. Way easier than paint brushes

Cold, slippery and crack if you drop things on them. Easily cleaned though

Interestingly whilst getting some hydraulic hoses made up today was chatting to the owner (runs a tractor / plant machinery repair place) and he said worst thing he ever did was paint the concrete floor, when oils get spilled becomes way too slippy. Maybe he just doesn't clean it up quickly enough but then he's flat out so doesn't have much spare time.

By far the best I've come across so far is Vuba resin products.

In fairness I haven't used their floor products but seeing as they started as a floor coating and aggregate bound resin company I'd have no hesitation In using their gear.

Bonus points are that they are a British company, making their products in Britain and are cheaper than the rest as well.

Dont joke, my brother has rubber matting down, its a bit like soft stable mats about 3/4 inch thick, has a nice feel under foot.and no dust.

I know someone that does that and it seems decent but it’s not really for me with welding etc

I welded with mine & they did pretty well tbf

Soo easy to keep clean & comfy under foot

Epoxy is good, But I would still have floor tiles again

I want to get some but it’s really not ideal for what I want. It would be a lot more expensive then this resin as well.

I did my workshop a couple of years ago with two coats of the epoxy resin paint (paints4trade.com) and its been great.

As with most things the prep is important, brick acid to pucker up the floor before painting. Used a roller to put it on.

Would definitely use it again

We repaint our 5,000 sq/ft floor at work annually
Use an epoxy paint, it's expensive but looks pretty good and lasts well.
Problem for us is when it gets chipped when dropping something heavy/sharp on. Moisture can then get under and blow surrounding areas.
If welding over it the paint can burn too.

Given the choice; I would always power float concrete, which means the floor remains clean, no dust, easy to clear up and looks ace. No maintenance either!!
Did that at home in my shed and haven't touched it since laying nearly five years ago.

On a serious point if the concrete is specced appropriately then you can get a very good finish with no dust from it straight off.

I've posted this before but this is the finish the day after pouring my workshop floor. We'll worth the £700 (inc VAT) it cost to get the pros to do it.

I told the chap (Andrew Sheen) what it was for - a workshop with machine tools, working om vehicles etc. He strongly advised against floating it saying he'd get such a smooth finish on it it would be lethal when wet / oily.
I didn't want any dust and he said I can do that without you needing paint.

11x5m 200mm thick and from the 3 of them driving in the gate to driving out was 1h45. Walkable in 24h and drivable in 72h.

So far builders have brought a couple of tonnes of wall down onto it and they've not even marked it. I'd have to double check the invoice but it was I think C40 and I also put reinforcing down.
