if in doubt, blob it on thick and grind backhave you got yours new rods yet?
Rods are here, I've just come back in after doing open heart surgery on the Topweld 160. It's an old beast but I don't like throwing things away if you don't have to. Upon inspection the unit had been dropped in its past life and things were a little bent. All now nice and straight and the mechanism is moving nicely. I will finish assembly over the weekend and give it a test drive.
I'm still intrigued to find out how the 1.6mm rods will work on the correct power setting, hopefully welds won't look like a bird has shat all over the place, oh and my bad welding is costing me a small fortune in abrasives !
