Latest on a Co2 gas supplier:~
Merseyside / Wirral area.

A result, I collected a straight forward cylinder exchange (Pub size bottle Co2) from Liverpool 4 Gases.

A *very helpful" family run company stocking various bottle sizes in Co2 & welding mix gas (I use Co2)
The charge for the above size is £30:00 on a cylinder exchange basis.
If you want a cylinder then a refundable deposit of a further £30:00 is required.

Another potential company is Target Fire extinguishers based in Rochdale.
After seeing photos of the gas bottle they said it could be refilled if the cylinder is left with them for collection at a later date-
however they have failed to respond to my request for a price.

The straight forward exchange companies seem to be fewer nowadays

On the thicker stuff I weld I find very little difference between Argoshield and plain CO2. I find it a little bit easier to see the arc with the argon mix but apart from that it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other
When you factor in price and ease of supply CO2 always wins for hobby users.
