Gas welding

I only use my portapak occasionally nowadays. It's still handy for heating and freeing seized stuff or the occasional weld when out of range of electricity.

May be im getting old but I love to pick up the gas and weld with/cut with it .may be the way I was taught but a good gas welder/cutter is hard to find now a days

I agree with you that a good gas welder/cuter is hard to find but I was taught by a man who put a root in a 6inch pipe with gas. You not getting old by the way because I was gas welding since I was 14.
