Very very nicely done.Hav'nt been here for a while, place looks the same. Last few days spent making a gate for my cousin, yep, you can tell by the house name she lives in Scotland. Ready for paint.

Yes have to agree nicely formedNice. I like the way you have done the scrolls 'properly'! Very classic and very traditional - almost textbook!

Quite agree. I'm not a lover of them on some things but they are a very nice job.Although I am no longer a scroll fan, those scrolls are excellent, really like the tightly scrolled ends.
Don't you think they are good. It's interesting what people like. I just do what I like or fancy on the job. Will have to do some samples of different finishes to show clients to choose- might be s good value added feature
However as I am currently working on sales samples on and off. It does give me ideas the more you tye down features the better
Used to make them by the thousands years ago, of late before I packed in I bought in, such a good range at decent prices it was not worth the hassle.do most of you make your own scrolls or buy them in ?
That's what I did, made a dozen 'half gates' and kept them in the van to show customers, often people don't know what they want until they are shown something different.
I did it because if I was to hear the words
'just put some nice scrolls in it' one more time I would have been locked up for murder.
It also made it easier to sell more costly
gates, they understood why they cost more because they could see the work and weight in real life.
