Just have them scan it and mix to what the scanner says not a paint code.
I only order by paint code if it's a total repaint otherwise is scanned and mixed to that.

That front wheel cover is just a dummy. The old grille is pictured below. Ugly as sin!
There’s a rad behind it with two sets of pipes running the length of the bus.

Spent a couple of days tidying up the old girl last week to take her to Busfest.
All bodywork that had been previously done for the last two mots and left in epoxy was treated to some colour. Ended up with three different colours which were all close but not quite perfect, but I think the colour I settled on is very good. I even got a good match on the spectrum analyser (4) but it wasn’t quite as good as I expected.
I was also sick of seeing the bumpers look so poor after the original owner had brush painted them, so they got taken back to bare metal, some minor dints tapped out and the rear OS bumper iron which had been bent slightly and was causing the bumper to kick up on one side, had the welds cut, measurements made, bracket straightened and welded back in square before etch primer was applied, followed by white primer, colour matched base sprayed and two pack lacquer applied. Surprising the finish you can achieve from rattle cans. The 2K lacquer is the real reason for this though. It’s like glass.

It’s not perfect guys but thanks all the same.
I’ve purchased a repair panel for the rear hatch receiver as the original owner placed duct tape over a big rust patch which festered into the following.
Hopefully I’ll get it sorted soon, I’ve also bought a used 1 piece steering box along with a Corsa C EPS column and a GPS transducer which will give the EPS the speed reference the ECU requires. It’ll just be an engineering exercise that should give the old girl electric power steering.
Rest assured I will put a thread in here once I start it.
I’ve actually purchased 1 full column, another without its ECU and a third tilt adjustable column with its ECU the tilt column is no good for the conversion so it’ll give me 2 splined shafts to modify and a spare EPS motor so I should be able to get a second one made either for the mini or for the old 73 crossover (Gertie, which is still in the other garage. This one is Fleur.

The rusted part has gone right through so needs sorting asap.

Yeah Bert, hence my hesitation. I’m looking to sell the bus and EPS would give me a wider market but I’m not throwing another £1500 at a £18k bus when I can finish the project for around £200 plus my time.
If it doesn’t work out, I’ll chalk it up to a learning experience and maybe bite the bullet. I am quite confident my engineering would be up to standard. We’ll see eh?

Got that rear panel repair done before this years mot and just got the interior retrimmed by South Wales Upholstery. 2 front seats, 2rear cushions and the rear matress and all door cards in tan vinyl fir £1100. Just need to refit it all.
