No because I don't think it will actually increase what your getting out the hot end, so you need to drop the size of the rods as smaller rods will run hotter at lower amps. If you have a set designed to run at 130 max generally you need to expect it to perform correctly at under 100 amps which is ideal for 2.5mm electrodes. At the end of the day 2.5mm rods run correctly will produce a tidy enough job on general box section and angle etc up to say 4 even 5mm. Think in the terms of cars a lot of small cars will break 100 mph but if you want to cruise at that you need something capable of a good bit more. Remember also what you plug into has a big bearing on what you get out of a set

Try turning up the power. As Kent says you may not get fantastic performance from the welder but it doesn't mean it won't run the 3.2 rods OK. It may struggle more if you are running off extension leads or a supply that isn't great.
Bear in mind the power indicator is a rough guide, don't expect it to be exact and I have found different welding rods have slightly different preferences.
The figures are just a good guide to get you in the general area, with a few years of experience you then know which way to tweak things.

Had another go today , ran 3.2s at 120 amps , weld was really wide compare to normal , think that's to do with travel speed though ? Tried a 2.5s on flat plate at 80 amps, they looked fine tried on a t joint looked poor. ground the old weld out , cleaned the plate up and put a new weld in , this time I decided not to weave . Resulted in much tidier weld , however was to shallow for a t joint , going to have to play about with rod angle I think

I am doing arc welding right now n wanna learn tig also. I just wanted to learn does green cscs card enough to do arc welding or Do I need blue cscs card. I also checked that website. Thanks.
had another little practice today. tried t fillet and butt weld .fillet went quite well , butt weld however wasn't so good.when welding the butt weld , I went with a 2.5 root pass, however i found if i didnt weave it all just fell out through the gap.when I did weave i got penetration , but i nearly filled the entire prep . I'm guessing my weld gap was to big and my prep wasn't big enough.how do you all prep your work , mine was just guess work with a grinder until the plate had a 2mm nose.Anyway here is some photos of my t fillet and my prepped plate , forgot to take one after i welded
