Review Ginour true colour mask

I've had this two months and think its great, heres a mini review of it.

I managed to get out in daylight yesterday, but only just, 4:30pm, so got some photos

Phone looking through the ADF is very clear, very little tint. It goes down to shade 5 but 9-11 seems to suit my work best at 40-150A. Camera right up against the filter:

The side windows are plain tinted green, and the right shade for the position. Very useful for seeing stuff around you. I would not go back to a mask without them - if I had to, I would be buying some filter glass, cutting a hole and gluing it on.

The adjustments are inside, I rarely touch them. If you adjust often, it might be a pain but I like it, I can't accidently change the shade, I take it off to adjust. Headband is comfortable, lots of adjusters.

This is is a good bit clearer in light mode than the other true colour I used, the GYS Alien XXL and about the same when dark. Both good masks, but the side windows on this meant its the one I picked up every time.

I got mine at £33 but the price has gone up, currently has 10% off voucher to £45.

I found a YT review which shows it better than my photos. He doesnt give it much praise, which I think is odd, as the lens is better than anything else I see in the same or double price range. Skip to 14 minutes to see through the filter.

This is me.
I don't change them often but I use the helmet as a face shield too
But I usually change the shade while welding to find the better setting for the conditions.
This thread just made me remind that I still have to make a review of my helmet , it's an almost 5 years review .

Sometime ago I borrowed a friends welding helmet, it was the GYS alien XXL and I used it all weekend.

I liked it that so much I bought one!

I have not. The GYS is the best I can compare with, and Im quite sure that comes from the same China factory.

Optically, I dont think there is much room for improvement, a comparison would be interesting.

Yes, the 4 spares should last me so havent searched for cheaper, many of the chinese import brands are made by WH using the same shell design and outer lens, that includes GYS, I think they are all made by WH.

Would be easy to copy the shape in a sheet of 1mm polycarbonate using a scratched as a template.

Mine arrived late afternoon, so I've yet to try it.

First impression good. Nicer quality than my Lidl, the only ADF I've used.
I was not so keen on the head band design, though, it's like a cheap cycle helmet's, not robust.

Nicer quality than my Lidl

When I got my non True Colour but massive screened IFL WH9801, it was the bigger field of vision compared to the Lidl one that amazed me. Then the clarity when welding. A real step up but I feel there's better masks especially for in low light.

Ready to make the next jump to either to the Ginour or GYS.

An amusing thing about the purchase of the mask from Amazon. I don't use Amazon normally, as not a fan of Bezo, but the difference in price on eBay made me ditch principles. It'll probably pay for a couple of spark plugs for his next rocket?
Of course on delivery they push for you to take 'Prime'. Next day delivery was £4.99!
However, finally, at the check out a free option appears for 2 day delivery which I took.
Prime and next day would have made it arrive on Tues (today), free would have been tomorrow. Just had a notification that it'll be arriving today with free delivery.
It appears that they just can't slow the system down

Im not a fan of Bezos either, but prime can not be beaten as a delivery service, the tv included is not bad too. I've had things ordered at 2am delivered the same day.
I dont pay prime myself, landlord has it and you can share it with a few people/family.

I bought one of these on the strength of Kram's review and the strength of whatever I was drinking a couple of Saturdays ago.

I used it today for the first time. It's really good! It was a bit disconcerting at first as I usually expect to be viewing something pretty dark just prior to striking up, but this is really clear with all the colours coming clearly through the lens. I felt like my eyes weren't protected, but of course they were. I've got a big face, big nose and wear glasses but there is still plenty of room under the hood. My Speedglas is rather cramped when compared.

The screen is pretty big which helps if, like me, you are starting to struggle to focus close up. There's a wider field of view to apply your gaze and get your eye in.

It won't replace my air fed, but it is a handy second mask for tacking up and short bouts of welding.

How much welding do you actually do? I've had a few cheap masks over the years and usually the soldered batteries and or electronics give out before I run out of screen covers.

They come with four spares included, which is more than enough for a cheap hobbyist mask.
